I’d like to propose adding rulers and draggable guides to the CSS inspection toolkit, similar to what’s available in design tools and some designer-focused extensions.
This would allow developers and designers to:
Quickly inspect alignments and spacing across elements
Spot layout issues, inconsistencies, and small visual imperfections
Measure distances without relying on temporary CSS or external screenshots
Verify grid systems, margins, paddings, and breakpoints with more precision
Improve collaboration between design and dev by matching visual specs more accurately
Having persistent rulers and guides directly in the browser would make layout debugging faster, more visual, and less error‑prone, especially for pixel‑perfect interfaces and responsive layouts.
